Tritone Exhibition Space – 6th February 2013
From the 6th February until the 3rd August 2013, the Tritone Exhibition Space of Fondazione Sorgente Group presented the exhibition “Athena Nike: the Victory of a Goddess. Greek Marbles of the 5th and the 4th century B.C. of Fondazione Sorgente Group”. A three-dimensional installation virtually reconstructs the statue, integrating the missing parts thereof and bringing it back to life. Thanks to the projects in the background, the Athena Nike belonging to Fondazione Sorgente Group is inserted in its original context of classic Greece of the second half of the V century B.C., the age of the Athenian democracy of Pericles and the construction of the Parthenon.
The virtual reconstruction was realized by Paco Lanciano together with his Mizar staff, thanks to sophisticated technological procedures, lighting and audio installations, and is based on the accurate scientific study regarding the reconstructive and iconographic hypothesis of the sculpture, conducted by Prof. Eugenio La Rocca. Paola Mainetti, the Vice President of Fondazione Sorgente Group, led the artistic coordination and supervision with the support of Valentina Nicolucci, the curator of Archaeology.
